CangzhouLibrary covers a land area of 57 mu and a covered area of 31714 square meters. Itsarchitectural image manifests the style organically fusing natural, humanistic andcity architectural space and gives full play to its profound historical and culturalconnotation and modern cultural sentiments in Cangzhou. It puts ‘Sudoku’ as thebasic prototype for layout. The central unit of ‘Sudoku’ iscortile and garth; itsfour corner blocks form a book-shaped image characteristic that tally with the significanceof Confucian classics, historical records, philosophical writing and miscellaneousworks or Four Branches of Literature. The concaved block in the middle is coveredwith 108letters of ‘books’ in seal characters. The shape design also takes in theimage element of ‘hopper’ shape in traditional Chinese culturethat forms the basic form of the building. It embodies the library’s upwards gazeat the ether, its extensive inclusion of knowledge and information, its all-inclusivenessand its continuous exploration of the unknown.

CangzhouLibrary has reserved more than 0.8million books including 0.5 million common books,over 5000 magazines, more than 10,000 ancient books and over 20,000 local literaturerelated with Cangzhou. It reserves the photocopy version of Si Ku Quan Shu (CompleteLibrary in the Four Branches of Literature), Amendment of Si Ku Quan Shu and theYongle Canon (the Imperial Library edition) as well as The Book of Jin, an amendedversion in Ming and Qing Dynasties, Outline on History as a Mirror, the block-printededition by Emperor Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty, Inkstone by JiXiaolan, the RepublicChina version, Chronicle of Cangxian County, the Republic China version, Ta KungPao one-volume edition and other precious literatures. It also reserves such digitalresources as Wanfang Data, Longyuan Periodical, Super Star Digital Library, TOFO Audible Digital Libary, Apabi full-textdigital library, CNKI and so forth. Itsdigital resources have reached 53TB.
